New to Forum...Question about Car
Hi all..
As you can tell..I'm new here.
but, I had a question about purchasing a 1996 Mustang GT.
The owner wants $1200 for it. (it's my brother)...so I know there is no HIDDEN problems with it.
The following are fixes that need to happen
1. Heater core
2. New clutch - but needs to be adjusted
3. Driver seat - one rip in seam
4. Tires - will need soon
He just put an engine in it - Used 98 engine with 50,000 on it.
Would it be something worth buying?? Would you do it?
Here is a pic..
Any and all comments/opinions will be appreciated

If you can do the heater core yourself, it's a $30 fix. Labor is what will kill you on that job. It's a pain in the butt job, but you can save a lot of money.
Clutch needs adjustment? Unless he's put an aftermarket clutch adjuster in it, there's no adjustments you can really make.
Torn seat is easy, there's a million sets of seats in good shape out there
I would sell the wheels and tires and put a nice set of wheels that fit the car's looks. Replica Cobra R's are pretty cheap.

I am fairly good with Mechanics...
I like to do all my own work. But, I have never done the Heater Core. Does anyone know if it's an all day job...?
Well...the car shakes every now and then. I bought him (my brother) a new clutch and it was working fine..but, when he replaced the engine...the mechanic convinced him to buy another one. I wonder if I will need to put another clutch in?
He is going to give me the original tires and wheels. They are 15" rims with Kumho tires on it. But, he lowered the car after putting the 20's on them. Does anyone think the car will ride TOO low after putting stock tires/rims back on??

If its his brothers, im sure that he is giving him a good deal on it. I think it would be rude to buy it for 1200, harvest the rims, and then sell the car for double paid for. No one has mentioned this so i guess it may just be me...
