I have not heard of anyone, but I am doing it. If you are going to use a 2v you will have to convert the harness/ECU to a GT, using a 3v you will have to lock the cams to use a GT harness/ECU, and 4v you will have to use a cobra or mach 1 harness. I am doing a 4v with cobra heads and an intake from the Ausi Falcon boss 260. I picked up a few from ausi ebay as they are hit and miss when they come up for auction or for sale.

There's no real difference with a v8 swap. the only real difference would be the wider block but any H pipe can be widened.

So the most cost effective way to do the 5.4 is the 2v then because parts for the mach and snakes are generally more, and the 3v there is some extra playing.

But to do this, then Id have to do a complete drive train right, like GT Tranny and 8.8, not to mention the hood clearance issue, as I would like it all tucked away as best as possible.

Hmm, Building my own v6 still seems the most viable but there is a certain coolness to having a 5.4 in the car,

Once you start to get some power out of a v6 then you have to change the rearend anyway. Then there is the price to get good power from the v6; just as expensive if not a little more than an engine swap. Having a fast 6 is just as cool/different as a 5.4L. Yeah I am familiar with super six motor sports. In other threads and through search in here I have been considering and inquiring about doing a 4.2l build or swap and then kind of going from there. Even if I stay with the v6, Id like to get a second v6 to build while I drive my car. And as for the rear end, as you said I should get one probably regardless and Id like to get one with the tlok and if I can find it at a good price, already have the 373s in it so I can just swap it in.

Rear ends are cheap to come by. Go to a junk yard and there is an endless amount of rear ends that you can grab for like 80 bucks.

What rear ends all fit? Obviously the new edge ones but do the truck ones? Sn95s? The fox bodys are narrower arent they?

Stick with a rear from a new edge, that way you don't have to worry about all the mounting non-sense. If I remember right the '94-98 fit, but are just slightly longer.
