Default K&N BBK or JLT

So I have about $250 to spend and I want to get a CAI. I am leaning toward the JLT or BBK because they make a fender well mount intake and also because I heard that I would actually lose hp by putting the filter in the engine bay like the K&N CAI does even though K&N's website claims 10.07 rwhp. Let me here what you have to say.

For the love of all that is pure and holy, don't spend $250 on a CAI. For that matter, don't buy one period. You'll never see anything even close to 10rwhp from a CAI.

JLT FTW! ...may not pick up 10 hp, but it sure will look good!

so what about fenderwell mount or regular mount? Will I lose hp by doing a regular mount because of the engine heat.

Well back to the reason I said don't buy one...I guess I say that because I don't really think it did a damn thing at all, other than dress up the engine bay. The stock intake is supposedly a pretty darn good piece and I believe it because liek I said I noticed zero difference with the JLT. Your best bet is probably an O/R midpipe, gears, and a tuner. I just honestly would not spend a dime on an aftermarket intake if I had it to do over again.

i just put on a bassani bx offroad x pipe. the reason I want it is mainly the sound and look. I used to have a v6 91' camaro and i dropped in a $40 kn filter and it dramatically changed the sound of the car. about how much should I expect to pay for some 3.73's installed?
