okay well its definately not hot when i turn the headlight switch, so this rules out the multifunction switch because power would not even be getting to it yet in order for it to even have a problem. WhitefoxGt thanks so much for the help been a real life saver so far. One more question, what could cause the red/yel wire to be dead at the headlight switch in the on position?

So the main switch has power goin into it, but no power coming out? The RD/YE wire comes from the main switch to the multifunction, and if you have no power at the multifunction correct? Chekc for power coming out of the main... Are you sure the switch is correct?
