killing battery?
Well this is probably a really dumb question but noone has ever given me a straight answer.
If i leave say my ipod charger in the cigarette lighter or my radar detector or something it stays on after i shut my car off.. now is this killing the battery or does it go off after a while?
thanks

The cigar lighter does not turn off ever, however the charger will probably reduce it's curent draw to something negligible when the device battery is charged.
A good battery should be able to power a radar detector or iPod for days--an average car battery has a 70 Ah rating for a 3.5A load. An iPod or detector probably draws well under 250 mA when idle. So, that 70 Ah battery could probably run it for over 140 hours and still have enough juice to spin the motor.
