Default I did what most say is impossible

I asked around before I installed a spec stage 3+ clutch and flywheel on my friends 04 cobra and everybody said that I would have to remove the longtubes inorder to do it. They were wrong. It took me about 5 hours and and never had to loosen a bolt on the K or the longtubes. So if anybody is wonder it is possible to pull the tranny on a cobra with longtubes.

Does it matter what brand of headers? Don't some longtubes for 99-04 2Vs allow transmission removal while some don't?

yes... some are quite different allowing for removal of the transmission without unbolting a thing..

i thought the cobras were supposed to be easier because you can unbolt the trans from the bellhousing which makes it easier to angle the bell housing to get it out?

wow dude...lucky you! I had to replace my clutch about 4 weeks ago (BBK long tubes) and I pretty much had to drop the K member couple of times.

SLP, Hooker,Flowtech are just a few that allow the trans to be dropped. This weighed heavily in my decision to get Flowtechs.

Like others have said, it's because they are SLPs. But at any rate, good job.
