Ok, Well after having my Patriot heads gone through and replacing the valve guides and valve guide seals.

I am still getting a lot of smoke on startup, heres what I've though of so far.

-I have already tried deleting my PCV and that wasn't it.

-I dont think its a head gasket leak, because when I had the heads rebuilt, I obliviously replaced the head gaskets.

-I thought I may have been a fuel problem, but the smoke isnt black.

-Now im thinking its a coolant leak somewhere, because the smoke is whiteish (although it doesnt smell sweet) and my coolant light turned on today and I was about a quart low. Although It may just have been some air that got cycled out of the block, but I don't think I would have taken 2 weeks cycle through if that was the case.

Also there is not any coolant in my oil, its not milky.

If anyone has a suggustion tword a possible solution, that would be great.

Are you just getting smoke on startup, what's it do once it's hot, are you using oil?

Have you ever been to the Daytona 500? Those puppies smoke like hell 'til they're warmed up?

It could take a while for the air to work out if you didnt purge the system when you replaced the heads.

How did the cylinders look from the top? I am thinking it could be the seal made by the rings...

I was getting smoke at startup also. I knew my patriots were perfect so I started to investigate. Found out that my oil leak in my return line for the novi was not only spraying on the pulleys but also working its way to the snail. There is no gasket under the snail so the oil was getting sucked in the novi and causing my smoke. Fixed the leak and the smoke is gone.

I know you dont have a s/c but my story just proves that oil can comre from the strangest places. Do a leak down test and it will help you narrow it down.

Sorry, I should have been more clear, I meant what numbers do we typically pull on a compression test.
