K-member or Lightweight Wheels?
#12
I doubt it about the weight of the wheels. My 18's are only 14lbs a piece without tires, so around 28lbs with tires. That's a pretty substantial leap from J-denis' 60lbs a pop
and J, it's still NOT the same thing. One is sprung weight, and one is unsprung weight. Relieve rotating mass is going to give you a better performance gain than releaving the same ammount of sprung weight.
Getting rear wheels that are 20lbs lighter total is close to the same as getting rid of 200lbs of weight somewhere else.

Whats the difference in weight between iron block adn aluminum block. I think its fair to say it would be close to the same or maybe more then what I K-member would give you. And is the rotating weight the biggest issue upon acceleration (launch) or is it always an issue(throughout the race). I was thinking it would be the biggest issue when braking or accelerating.

ok...to clear this up alittle bit. My car is a 2002 Gt with a vortech and i make about 410hp to the tires. I have 17x10.5 rims now with nitto 555rs out back and cut a 1.87 60' and go 12.1@116. Im eventually going to do the kmember and wheels im just tryin to figure out which to do first? What is going to get me the better advantage right now? The choices are 15x3.5 and 15x10 billet specialties street lite wheels with m/t drag radials or a team z complete kmember kit with coilovers. What is going to get me the best/noticeable bang for my buck?
