A CF hood will make you faster by being more aerodynamic due to the tightly woven particles and fabrics that make up the actual cf. Real world tests have shown an increase of up to 20hp due to drag reduction!

Im totaly kidding, tried to make it sound good though.

Also look at the actual weight, 40 lbs., most people could preacher curl that amount of weight, let alone a big V8 engine having trouble moving that much around.

To show you how important power is, and how unimportant weight shavings are.
This car started out 2700 lbs., and ended in 1600 lbs., over 1000 lbs. taken out. And the car is still slow.

I probably shouldnt have said it makes a big difference, but it is definitely beneficial. I have a pretty good understanding about how weight affects cars, I was big into Miatas before this and know that power isnt everything. maybe my mindset is still stuck on those little cars where shaving 2 pounds per wheel/tire was a difference that could be felt.

haha good one...you could probably market that line to VIS or someone to put in Import Tuner or Super Street and make enough money to shave REAL weight off all of our cars

There are other advantages to losing weight, other than 1/4 times. Shaving 1000lbs off that **** box and picking up 2 seconds aint bad really, considering its utter non-existence of power. But it really depends on how much those tenths mean to you or how crazy/rich your are in wanting to compensate with retarded amounts of power. I think you should just strike a balance... i.e. fiberglass if you want a new hood, save a little weight and little money.
