Default CMS Stage 2.5 Blowers Cams Flycut Pistons?

Do you need to flycut pistons with this blower cam? I thought you just them in degree them and you are allset. I am looking at Manley 17cc or 18cc dished pistons and rods. Is it a good idea to run a centri blower with stock compression of 9.4 using 17cc piston size with stock heads?

Please advise!

Jim you out there!

I'm here!

No need for valve reliefs with those cams. Degree them in and you are good to go. Any dish between 17-19 is perfect for a centri blower!

Both sound really good IMO just from watching people's videos and the stage 3 just sounds more radical.

You don't say? lol. I guess I phrased it wrong. Why would one get 2.5s when they can get stage 3s for the same price?

To make it fairly easy, each "stage" is a little more aggressive than the last and each is designed for a more "potent" combo. Each has its pros and cons. You wouldn't want Stage 3's with a otherwise "stock" motor. They aren't designed to operate together. Much the same as you wouldn't wan't Stage 2's if you had a full built monster pushing 25psi. They are just miss-matched combo's. A "general" guideline for my blower cams are Stage 2 for mildly boosted cars looking to make 600rwhp or less. Stage 2.5 for more "aggressive" combo's looking to make up to 700rwhp...and then Stage 3's for anything more. Now, there is certainly some overlap between all 3...some people wanna make 500 but just want as an aggressive sound as they can get..and don't care about an optimal combo.

Say I wanted like 500 rwhp, would it hurt me to get stage stage 3s? Would I gain any more hp from getting stage 3s over 2.5s or would I actually get less since I wouldn't have a motor thats fully capable of taking advantage of them.

I will have a side be side comparison next week. My car has CMS stage 3 blower cams and my buddys car I'm building right now has CMS stage 2.5 blower cams.

2.5 are all you'll or want. I know there's the great sounding stage 3's on youtube but that car also made less Hp than Grecos 2.5 because of his setup.

Don't try to mod your car for sound...it's silly.
