89LX Coupe

To start out I was texting my friend with a V6 stang trying to get him to go to the local 1/8 mile track this Friday. He ask me if I thought he could run low 9's at the track and I'm like WTF??? BTW he only has bolt ons on the 6er.

Well then he said the reason he asked that was b/c his buddy that has a nice 98 GT vert 5sp (MODS: cai, o/r x-pipe, and I think weld in flow w/ the STOCK 2.73 gear and on regular street tires); SUPPOSEDLY ran a 9.2 at the track w/ no MPH or 60' given to me either.... I know this guy can't drive, at least on the street he can't and from a dig the v6 stang gives this guy a damn good run for his money.

I thought these times were complete BS and I just wanted to check with you guy since y'all have a bit more knowledge on these cars.

BTW in case you were wondering what I my friend w/ the V6 stang on what I thought his car would run I politely told him no low 9's and at BEST if he could drive his a$$ off 9.5's at best.

its bs my buddy has v6 and his best time was a 16.6 and he has mods done he might run like 10.5 at best but deff not 9's

Yeeeeeaaaa, I would give him anywhere between 10.5 and 10 flat. Depends on how good he can drive, the DA at the track, track prep, temp, blah blah blah...

Tell your friend to put it down and step away. It's obvious that it's doing some serious damage to his head.
