Yep a 10.5" and a stock 00 8 bolt flywheel. That's with a slew of 1.6-1.7 60's at the track for over 3 years.

I have seen clutches hold until you put some tacky tires on it at a well prepped track and then they start going done hill. But my cheap XTD keeps taking it and I couldn't complain if it goes since it was only payed 185 shipped 3 years ago lol.

i'd suggest McLeod Clutches im making just under 500 and im rolling around with their super street with no problem / slipping at all. i had a spec 3 in it before and it was pretty stiff but it didn't bother me, BUT it would chatter randomly at a certain RPM during 5th gear / crusing...

the McLeod clutch was cheaper than the Spec stg. 3 and i'll be switching to a McLeod Twin Disk as soon as i finish gathering parts / money to get the DSI Intake & P&P...

on a side note... my buddy's spec stg3+ took a dump on him 2months after (cutting clutch wear in 1/2 thus slipping/etc...) and he's definitely not near the power it claims to support... Maximum Motorsports has done testings themselves and found that these aftermarket companies tend to overrate their products while McLeod doesnt.

One thing to remember, always design your drivetrain so the clutch is weaker then your transmission. It's alot cheaper to replace a clutch then a transmission.

Thanks everyone for your information. I think I am going to try the XTD stage III clutch as it is $100 cheaper than spec III as I still have my stock tranny. Once my stock tranny goes I will need another clutch at that time for a TKO setup.

I'm not sure what size flywheel is in your car, but make sure you get the correct size clutch. I just ordered an 11" flywheel and the XTD clutch I looked at was 11".

^^^this is what I have heard. I was recently told that unless you are using DR's on a track your street tires will break loose anyhow no matter what clutch you are using so whats the point in spending loads of money on a clutch if you are not going to run on a track.

Yeah, if your the worlds worst driver maybe, if you know how to drive, you can hook up on street tires.

IDK why everyone thinks its soo hard.

Driving has nothing to do with hooking on street tires on the street at a certain rwhp level...

Its not hard to put a car in gear and hit the gas, if you can do this in 3rd gear at 80mph and the car still breaks loose, the best driver in the world wont make a damn bit of difference..

also hooking up a full suspension 4k pound irs equiped mustang is a whole different ballgame compared to your average 400rwhp stockish suspension 245 275 **** tire car.
