Heads on a 4.6L Lincoln
1992 Lincoln Town Car w/ 2v 4.6L
I got the heads back and put them on the Town Car. I do have a question though. The Crankshaft is in the 9 o'clock position(safe position???). The heads have to be adjusted so the camshafts line up w/ the markings that I made on the timing chains. If the crank is in the safe position, can I rotate the heads safely until they are correctly oriented? I believe it is okay but, I wanted to double check before I did it.
If this is wrong, what is the correct procedure to retime the engine???
EDIT: I broke the tube on the EGR and am JB Welding it. It is rated for 500-600 degrees. What kind of EGTs would I be seeing???? (I tried to replace that tube between the manifold and EGR and FOrd nor aftermarket makes it)
Thanks.
