All the center caps I'm finding are 2.5" ones..thats all AM sells. I've searched ebay and everything. I did find some Cobra R 2.25" ones, but I don't like putting crap like that on my car when it's only a GT. I cannot find black or chrome generic 2.25" center caps anywhere. Any ideas?

Unfortunately, there is will be more than outside daimeter to consider.

Example, I picked up a couple sets of knock-off Saleen wheels for my ride. The center caps included were ugly and wanted some Saleen ones. I was able to find authentic caps in correct diameter, but fit in too far on wheel and were recessed. I ended up using just the knock-off plastic piece and peeling the aluminum embossed sticker off the Saleen caps and gluing them on. It is likely you will have the same issue.

You may have to get creative and make something. Do you have any pics, maybe I could come up with some ideas. I am good at this sort of thing.

What rims are they?

I have Cobra R rims so I just bought the cobra r center caps for ebay. couldn't really find much else 2.25".

I don't think its bad to put it on your center caps if its the rims you have.

You don't see people not putting the Saleen center caps on Saleen rims...so whats the difference otherwise

they are chrome cobra style. I really have no idea the exact brand and style. missing 2 center caps, the other two are all cracked up. the caps I do have have the head of a snake on them..kinda of a cheesy looking snake. rims are in real good shape overall except the missing center caps. insides of rim have some blemishes, but the outer part looks great still.actually really similar to these:
