CAR WARRINTY THEY JUST DONT GET IT

ok, i have been on the phone with this warrenty place for an hour they just dont seem to get it, my car is a 2000 mustang saleen sc. all stock, VIN runs GT!!! i told them that from the dealership this saleen comes this way, saleen takes the cars and changes them , then is sold off the floor like that. for engine/trans coverage for 100,000 miles or 5 years its 2400 dollars. my car has 112k so i will be coverd untill 212k, i said so if my engine blows you are going to put back the way i bought it off the floor, shes like yes, the supercharger too becuse it is stock , yes, then she says no, GT parts, i said saleen engine is a 2v GT engine, with a sc,bigger injectors, and a tune. she says yes sier we will put a GT engine back in, im ok with them just puting a GT engine in with no sc as long as they make the car run right. i told them they can just drop a gt engine in , if its not going to have a sc they need to reflash the car. she says they will, i say so yo cover if i break something while mashing on the car. she says wat kind of mashing i say picking up speed to yeiled into traffic, she said yes but not racing. how would they know the diffrence, one guy told me when i do file a claim they will give me a hold time and try not to cover me saying i was racing or something. god anyone had a warreinty like this, please help. thanks

paintball1 03-31-2009 05:26 PM

isn't what ppl want a warreinty for peace of mind, so when they get on it they dont worry

Mustang3GT07 03-31-2009 05:43 PM

Nope this is why I don't get a warrenty lol. If something breaks I buy the broken part and fix it myself.

paintball1 03-31-2009 05:44 PM

do u think there cover me, they said they will.

Mustang3GT07 03-31-2009 05:46 PM

The ways it sounds, I think they will but there gonna give you a really hard time about it and I do believe they dont have to cover anything if the damage is caused to you racing. IDK how they would find out, but they usually do.

paintball1 03-31-2009 05:46 PM

also , there was a list of parts coverd in the engine and trans, i wounder if there be picky about what cused what. they said they have to find out what caused it before they pay

paintball1 03-31-2009 05:59 PM

it does seem to good to be true

if it seems too good to be true, you better pinch yourself quick bc it probably isn't, try going down there and talking to them... be firm but calm

mustangcat 03-31-2009 07:06 PM

$2400 for 100k miles worth of "GT Parts"?
Thats not too good to be true. That sounds right.

+1, forget the warranty. you will never be able to heavily mod the car or the warranty is out the window and you just gave $2,400 or whatever it was away for free.

well dont u think the amount of engine would almost be that. reason i got worried is my car will not go into reverse at all if you go streight to reverse, you must go to 5th then to reverse and sometimes it takes 2 times, i heard thu that its common so maybe nothings wrong???? input?

H0SS302 03-31-2009 08:32 PM

Man I gotta say, my typing is horrible..but yours is on a whole different level. Please type more carefully. Its like trying to understand the chinese lady at the fish market reading your posts.

that being said... Get the plan, it will come in handy.

IDT anything is wrong with your tranny. mine is the same way. i roll about a 1" into first then put it in reverse. it hardly ever goes straight into reverse. alot of ppl have this issue.

Yea I have this same issue as well... very common in the tr3650 trannies from what I hear. The synchros suck and that's what causes the problems.

paintball1 04-01-2009 07:16 PM

thankss

fausty 04-01-2009 07:24 PM

Don't stress getting a warranty just because your tranny doesn't go into reverse the first time you try putting it into gear.It happens to me all the time...

paintball1 04-01-2009 07:40 PM

it will never go into reverse unless i go 5th then reverse , its like im grinding when i go into reverse

Xemeth 04-01-2009 07:49 PM

Don't bother with these warranty companies. They barely cover anything. We deal with them occasionally at work where people get suckered in to their bull****.

Plus they're a pain in the ass to deal with and will fight almost anything you want to do.

paintball1 04-01-2009 08:47 PM

Heres the contract thats coverd , please look it over and tell me what you think.

Don't do it! Sounds like a rip off to me!

Screw the warranty , I bought one for my GT because it did sound so good but it was too good to be true. My clutch went a week after I bought it from the previous owner/leaser mashing on it , Called the warranty company and they gave me all sort of sh#t saying anything could have caused that. Well after a week of arguing they agreed to install a new clutch , went to drop the car off and the dealer told me it would be 100$. I told the mechanic to go f%ck himself upside down. Got on the phone with the warranty company and they told me it would be 100 dollars because it was a 500 dollar part and 800 dollar labor charge after telling me the warranty would cover 100% . So I told the mechanic to give me the clutch and I installed it myself and proceeded with a refund of the warranty. There BS IMPO ......

I G Joe 04-01-2009 11:45 PM

did you get those BS cards in the mail telling you you'r warranty was over and you should call this number blah blah blah?

don't believe those assholes. if something breaks fix it your damn self, it's a lot cheaper that way.

Seriously, dude, learn to type. It looks like a second grader wrote that. It's not bad when it's only one line, but when you have a whole paragraph, it's really tough to decipher.

No its because your dummies... if you read the manual it will tell you your supposed to shift into two forward gears before shifting into reverse... there is nothing wrong with the design of the 3650... just the people who drive them.
