You can throw on and s/c and be done... just dont exceed 450hp/tq. your stock bottom end and rear will hold for quite some time. i say the rear will hold... as long as you are not launching it at 5 grand all the time. any basic s/c kit will work for you. if you plan to pass 45ohp/tq, then you will need built engine, rear, ect...
many ppl are content with the 400hp/tq mark and have no intentions of going higher and have had their blower on for 2+ years with no problems.

In California you are somewhat limited on your choices if you are going to pass the emissions test. I believe that the ProCharger P-1SC is CARB approved your year of Mustang. All of the tuners I've talked to say to limit a daily driver to 370-380 rwhp (manual transmission). That's somewhere around 435-450 hp at the crank. The basic P-1SC running 8 lbs of boost will get you to around 350 rwhp. At 10 psi you will be somewhere near 400 rwhp. You should not go above 10 psi on a stock motor. The kit comes with everything that you need including an optional 3-year warranty. That and a set of 3.73 gears is really all you need.

depending on how you buy your blower, kit or not you will need the following other than the supercharger itself and pulleys, etc:
42 lb injectors
255 lb SVT Focus Fuel Pump
90 MM Lightning MAF Senor
New Spark Plugs of your choice (1 heat range colder than stock)
Handheld Tuner like SCT
Dyno Tuned
If you have additional money i would go with the following:
Recommend Welded Subframe Connectors
Lower Control Arms
3.73s or 4.10s for gears
I would only run 8 PSI with stock block (370 rwhp) just from personal experience otherwise you run the risk of motor failure but it depends on your tune.

THANKS

You will not get the same rwhp with an automatic as you do a manual shift transmission. There is greater parasitic loss through an automatic. A safe 370 rwhp for a manual will be approximately 335-340 rwhp on an automatic. Both will be around 420-430 hp at the block. If you push the rwhp up on the automatic you are pushing the limits of your motor.
