04 mach 1 shifter

Im getting a 2004 mach 1 shifter (whole assembly) will it bolt into my 99 gt or is the **** the only thing I can use? I was told the mach 1 shifter was shorter and I cant pass up the price ($35)

unless you have a 3650 it wont work

That's kinda what I thought. I guess I'll use the **** and sell the shifter then.
