See if when we would autocross they (SCCA) would get mad for the smoke. To me it was just fun. Recently I went to PPIR (Pikes Peak International Raceway) and saw my first drift comp. Looked silly at first and then I thought how much it was only autrocross with more style. I think the Cobra just will not break loose enough that long???????

if you want to drift, i would suggest looking into suspension mods and then some power mods. The more power you have, the less likely you are to hook. For drift cars, i would not go with anything but a turbo because of the shape of the powerband. And yes, there is a mustang drifting pro, driven by ken gushi, that is whipple s/c'd but its running a 725hp aluminator motor straight from FRPP. But i would do some power adder and suspension work to make the cobra into a drift car. But it can be done.

FINALLY another drifter. hah ya man you could prob drift on those tires. i bought a cheap set up v6 rims and im using federals because you can pick them up new for like 70 bucks, and they respond well while drifting. you'll definitely have enough torque to break any size wheels loose. have fun man and let me know how it goes... to bad your not in the SoCal area i could get you into some events with me...
