Default those of you with 4.10s

question for anyone with 4.10s and a 5-speed...do you usually take off from a stop in 1st or 2nd gear? and before anyone chimes in with a stupid remark i'm talking about on the street not at the track lol. like my first gear starts getting high RPMs around 15 MPH or so, so i've found that recently i've just been starting out in 2nd. anyone else do this??

and what do u think's better for fuel economy? revving it up kinda high in 1st then changing gears or bogging it down a little in 2nd but keeping the revs low?

I start in first if I am at a complete stop. If I am moving at all or on a downhill slope, I start off in 2nd. Depends on my mood. I can't my foot out of the gas enough to worry about gas mileage

Best thing for fuel economy might just be to start out in first, go to third, then fifth.

I star off in 1st and I'm shifting early (around 1700-1800) this tank to see how much of a difference it makes in fuel economy versus shifting at around 2,000-2,300.

BTW, you still at VCU? Haven't seen your GT around.
