i have a 1999 mustang gt and is a newbie every gt ive ever seen the tach went to 8 grand mine only goes to 7 and hits reve limiter around 5 grand any help im sure someone knows whats up thanks

Do your gauges look stock? I think the V6 mustang gauge cluster tach only goes up to 7..

the speedo goes to 150 there stock gauges i think

does it matter? you will blow it the **** up at 7k...rev limiter should be 5800-6200 i think.. i cant remember

the engine was replaced before i got it could it be possible that they replaced the v6 with a v8 would the engine bolt up to the v6 tranny just got it so it might be a dumb question and the v8 wouldnt run with the v6 computer? my buddy has a v6 mustang and his rev limiter kicks in at 5200 just like mine

i understand it will blow at 7 but the rev limiter kicks in at 5200 im sure im loosin power not going up that high i ran 14.9 at 92 was the best i could get out of it

and the 8k guages are for cobras....the speedo goes to 160 on them

no its a v8 im sayin the guy that had it before me had the engine replaced not sure what was in it before ive seen many mustang gt not cobras have the tach that goes up to 8k
