A lot of people will dog on 3.73's because they aren't steep enough to make the modification itself worth it....but a few had 3.73's and went to 4.10's, and are pretty happy with it.
Fuel mileage, you can expect 1-3 mpg less overall, but that just depends on your driving habits.
A company that many have bought their gears from without issues is the Ford Racing name, or FRPP gears. Motive's probably work just as good.

i know exactly what im talking about, because i put 3.73s in my car, and a few months later, i pulled them out to put in 4.10s....the 4.10s are better in almost every aspect. it was a noticable difference from 3.73 to them, i still get 28ish on the highway cruising at 80. and my car comes out of the hole like its its job. show me one reason to get 3.73s over 4.10s in a n/a or nitrous car(blower car yes, id gear it down a little)., and im geared perfectly for the 1/4 mile... i go thru right at the top of 4th, so im getting all the potential out of the car at the track, not like the 3.73s that had a little left in them

if you ever plan to make big numbers, you may find 4.10s too steep...thats why a lot of modded cobra guys run 3.55s
i have 3.73s in my car, im aiming for 500/500 give or take, then a 200 shot on top of that...so 4.10 would be too much gear for me... 3.73 and a 28" tire should do me fine
so 3.73 arent always a bad investment
