More reviews on NT05 tires

I just got done driving 45 min down the river we call a freeway. It was raining so hard it was hard to see.

I was able to drive at 70mph the entire time while everybody else was slowing down to 50mph. I had 0 hydroplane problems and was able to weave in and out of traffic with perfect traction. Something I couldn't do before. When I got off the freeway I decided to test out the traction with 1/2 inch of water on the road. Completely stuck to the road and the car took off like it does when it's dry out. I am so impressed with these tires I'm gonna buy another set for the front.

Had them at the track yet?

these tires have been catching my eye lately. So from what i have been reading these tires handle amazing in the corners. But how are they in a straight line. I see you are packing some Power. How do they stand up to your launches? im sure for me they'd be fine with the launch since i just have some bolt ons. . But im still trying to decide between the NT05 and the 555.

Are the NT05 like a Drag radial material or no? i still want a tire that is going to last a while.

I don't go to the track much and haven't been since I put these on. When I launch hard on the street the grab much harder then my old nitto DR's.

damn. ok im definitely picking up a pair. a guy on moddedmustangs.com said they are kick ass too and they are the best tires he's ever had. he is supercharged too.

I thought with those big bars missing from the tire, they'd have less traction.... How does that work?

mustangman281 05-01-2009 11:31 PM

Those big bars missing give the water a place to go rather then stay under the tire and make it float. The flat strip is in the middle is where you get all the traction.

Right, the wet conditions part I knew. But why wouldn't the tires benefit from having a larger middle strip?

I keep hearing more and more good things about these. I really want to get Nittos Invo tire but they dont have 17x275...lame

Good review. I need some new fronts and I'll have to look into them. Will I see any difference between going 255 vs 275 on fronts? I can't rotate my tires anyways b/c of the DR's out back.
