Default painting rims

I got a free set of 17x8 grey bullets and they dont really match my car. so i tapped of polished lip and lightly sanded them and paint then gloss black with engine enamal.( i was told to use that insted the rim paint.i put about 3 coats of the then 2 coats of clear.
my question is how well will it hold up? anyone ever painted there rim?

That really depends on how well you prepped them. They'll probably chip pretty easily like most painted rims if you didn't prep them well.

I drove on painted rims for about 6 months. They developed a couple of small chips, but none of the paint cracked or peeled off. All you would ever have to do if it did chip is touch it up or repaint them. Not really an issue at all especially for free wheels.

Post pics. I dont believe you. J/k. As long as the area you sprayed was prepped properly it should be fine. No matter what paint you buy its only as good as the surface you put it on.
