that would definitely be worth it. You can remove your drivers side upper control arm and eventually pair it with a torque arm and remove the other upper ca. That will increase your traction tremendously.

Actually, it is recommend you remove the passenger UCA when a torque-arm is not yet installed
This is according to Griggs website, but is a short-cut in my opinion. I think that if one wants to go the distance, install an MM TA at the same time as a PHB or Watts-Link.

if you're looking more towards street/strip racing, definitely swap out the gears to 4.10s first, then follow with all the stuff up above.
All of the above will help but he's got a lot more rubber on the ground pulling him out of the hole than you do. Try tires first. Them move on to the other things.
