Default Speedo gears for 96 gt with 4:10's

I just picked up over the weekend a Sniper Special Forces tuner for $200 bucks. I was adjusting everything out and installing a new tune and ran into a few hiccups so I posted a message on their forum and got in touch with a tuner/dealer for Sniper. He helped me step by step, on a sunday evening.....Excellent guy!!!!! I was told though that for my year up to a 99 you can't fix the speedo with the software. Only 99 and up will work with this feature. So what is my next choice for fixing this? I assume a speedo gear but I am not sure wehre to go to get this gear adn also wonder how hard is it to change out. If anyone can help me out send me a message here or at msettle93@yahoo.com Thanks!

The only way to adjust it (for 410s) with the gears is to change the drive and driven gear... Theres a gear thats on the speedo sensor that comes out of the trans (easy to do) then there is a gear on the tail shaft thats not so easy to get off.

Theres a device called a speedcal that wires in series with the factory speedo that can adjust it to any gear ratio you want. Its about 100$ and worth it.

I saw that module on mustang muscle, just wasn't wnting to spend the bucks right now. might do it over the next couple of weeks though. Thanks for the info. Other than running ten miles an hour slower I noticed that it is only 1 1/2 tenths off on the mile to mile markers on the highway. But over time I am sure this can really add up, I already have 178,000 miles so I need to get it done sooner than later. Wonder if I can figure out how many extra miles are on it actually.

I had 3.73s in my car and had a gear so it was close... then swapped in 4.10s and never fixed it. Was off by about ten at regular speeds than almost 20 when I was over 100mph lol.

I just drove it anyway. I didnt care about mileage anyway.
