Default Help with exhaust

Have a 2000 automatic gt that needs the exhaust done. Had an off road x pipe and magnaflow mufflers on a previous 2000 manual gt which i was happy with but i want something a little louder. I have decided on bbk shorty headers with an off road x pipe (which i have heard is better for power and flow) what mufflers should i get? just came across $6000 so car will also have a tork tech eaton m112 supercharger and predator tuner from anderson ford motorsports.

why not just get a good blower, not a heaton?

you're worried about flow, but your getting one of the crappiest blowers on the market?

buy a kenne Bell, Vortech, Or procharger. A heaton should only cost you like 2200 bucks, it's a worthless POS.

I would even say if you want to go cheap, get a whipple/saleen blower used. Like a series V or IV (I'm not sure which one fits to the 2V

you have enough money for the mongoose vortech v2 kit, and a full exhaust which should put you around 380rwhp or so. stay away from the eaton POS. waste of money

shorties are a waste of time, stick with LTs. MAC are good yet cheap. i personally favor the summit H pipe but any mid pipe will do. borla sounds great along with bassani.

I really enjoy my SSS Terminator Catback. It's all 304 stainless. It has a very unique and awesome sound for a great price.

My particular system employes SSS's race mufflers (they make a street and race muffler) which are very loud, but with a nice deep tone with my catted h pipe & long tubes.

This combined with an o/r x pipe would probably be even louder yet.

So let me get this straight. You don't need/want advice on the S/C, since you know exactly what your talking about, right? Yet, you need/want advice on something as simple as muffler choice?

Whatever. As for mufflers, you can look in to Mac, Flows, Borla, Magnaflow, SSS, Corsa, Dynomax, Spintech, Moroso, SLP, Pypes, I think that about wraps them all up. Get on youtube and listen to some videos and pick what you like. Asking for everyone's opinion on exhaust is kinda like wiping before you poop, it just doesn't make sense.

On a side note, you should really listen to some of the advice in this thread. The stock Heaton is going to be a waste of money. If you "just came across" $6,000 then get yourself a quality set-up so that you wont regret it.

Personally, I like Borla. I presently have the H-pipe and a cat back from them. It has a great idle sound, but is also damn loud at higher RPMs.

No offense or anything man, I mean your car is your car, and your money is your money, but please think about listening to 2000AZ5.0GT: buy a kenne Bell or Vortech. I have a Vortech SQ S-trim myself and it was a really nice experience. Went in easy, its super quiet, and performs great.
