Default Going to the track in 2 hours... need some tips!

The main thing is I have 275/35/18" Vredestein street tires for the rear on 4.10s. Should I go around the water box and not even rev the car up when I get to the line?

I've never done this before and I'm nervous LOL. I have the same feeling in my gut like I do when it's the first day of class.

Dont worry about your reaction time. Try to get a good launch.... ease on the gas dont mash it. avoid the water box.

For your first pass I would take off like your leaving a stop sign in a hurry.

That's what I was thinking - my first launch being like I'm hauling *** to work because the god damn light turns red. LOL.

go around the water box, back up. slightly spin your tires. do a very very mild burnout, just enough to clean the tires, no john force burnouts. and when you launch, dont dump the clutch.

good luck

I got vredestein and 4.10s and unless the track is well prepped you wont hook, but your best bet is to go around the waterbox and clean the tires off a little.

I'm such a terrible driver. I couldn't break 13s until my very last run which was a 13.8. I'll create a new thread tomorrow with all the details.

Was a lot of fun though.

It's all good man. My first time at the track with my Mach was kinda rough. Almost ended up in the wall when I hit 3rd gear and spun all over the track. Street tires and big gears aren't your friend.

Get some seat time and practice in, I know that car's got 12's in it.

13.8's aren't bad for your first time out, especially considering it was probably warm out.

Good Job matt
