Default iPod with Mach 1000?

I have a 2003 GT with a Mach 1000 and I want to wire my iPod directly to it. Ive been calling around and Cruthfield said that their Ipod interfaces wouldnt work with my car because it has a 6 disk changer. I'm confused now I was wondering if anyone had an ipod connected directly to their mach 1000?

I don't get how having a disk changer would make such a difference.

Every interface I have installed on the mach radio you will lose the 6 disc dont know why but you do.....Crutchfeild is right.... It will work but disables the 6 disc.

If you want to have a cd player and your ipod at the sametime get an aftermarket radio bc it will only be a matter of time before that 6 disc changer goes out and you lose 6 of favorite cds.

^Yeah it depends on the headunit but most of them now a days comes with the cable.....2-3 years ago you had to buy the cable for 50-60 bucks...That is really the only good way to connect and control your ipod throught the headunit.

I definatly want to keep the stock headunit. I hate the way aftermarket headunits look for some reason. I love the stock ones it's clean. So if I buy that one that you posed the link for it will work? I don't mind if I lose the 6 disk as long as the ipod works.

If you search ebay for "mach ipod" you should find what you need. The cable actually hooks up to the cd changer remote comtrol plug on the back of the head unit. That may be why it disables the cd changer....They are around 80 bucks...I'm to cheap to buy one right nowlol
