Default Should I buy this mustang?

I was looking at a 2000 Mustang convertible triple black with 96,000 miles...seller was asking $8499 and I have him down to $7500. It seems to be in pretty good condition, but the headlights need to either be replaced or the yellowish residue somehow removed. Other wise engine seems pretty strong, clutch and brakes felt good.
I have a VIN if someone wants to carfax it for me.
Thanks,
NewB Mike

GT or not? 10K miles per yer in NJ seems like pretty high miles to me. in Texas, that is low mileage, but up north that is a tad high. If it's a GT, it's a decent price on it.

Default missing info

It is a GT. Tires and almost new. Paint is great, but there is a ding in the driver's door that he said will be fixed this week by a great ding guy.

I wouldn't pay no more then 7k for that car. For a couple grand more you can find a 99 cobra.

+1, if I could do it over again I would have gotten a 99-01 Cobra for roughly the same damn price I paid for my car.

Default Did NOT buy it.

It turned out to need more work than I thought. New clutch and totally needed to be repainted as well as the roof leaked into the trunk.

So if you know of anyone selling a GT or Cobra in great shape, pm me. It has to be a convertible and manual trans!

Thanks for the help!!!

welcome to the forums where are you in NJ?? im up in morris county... northern NJ

FYI, i got my car in jan 08 with 49,000 on it for $10,300...

so that car you were looking at isnt even close to a deal

IMO i got my car for a steal.. it's all about what you are willing to pay for your specific car though.. i thought 10,300 was quite a steal for the amount of mods the car already had. it's what i was willing to pay

but that car your lookin at is def too high.. IMO i wouldnt pay over 5,500 for it. thats just me though. with this economy, you can get a decent mileage cobra for ~18k...
