Be careful buying used ones. They are just as brittle as your now broken original piece. Its best to just cough the $$ up and get the new one.

mines cracked in 3 places and missing a small chunk...i saw them online somewhere for $50, wish i woulda bought it

yeah mi trying to convince my friend who has an 01 just sitting with no engine hood trans... to let me have the cowl. I broke mine 2 weekends ago while adjusting the hood after caster camber plate install. from ford with my friends discount it was 160 or something. its a bunch of bs.

+1 that's what I did. Mine's broken in two places. Unless I find a cheap one from a junker I'm not paying to replace it. Just pick up some of that plastic cement stuff, the kind that you have to mix the two parts to make the reaction. Mine's held up for almost a year now

yeah im not gonna buy it unless i find it for cheap.... the thing barely flexed before it cracked

I don't know why Ford decided to make the cowls out of basically ****ing glass. All the GM cars we get in at work you can bend the cowls in half and they won't break. They'll have a stretched mark on them, but they don't break like the ones on the Mustangs seem to.

You can't use those big self tapping bolts for that back part??

What about similar bolts like that is used for sheet rock with the bracket that holds the back of the bolt?

Damn, my cowl has a broken corner due to a buddy that was helping install my hood. Seems to me I checked with Ford and was $200 something or another as well.

Sorry to hear about your strut-tower install probs too

It's just a ****ty piece all around. Mine is cracked too..but anyway contact steve a tousley ford he's got em for 157- if u want to replace it..
