I have 373s on my 96 non pi right now plus a lightweight drive shaft and ?I preffer the 373s because I drive on the expressway everyday to see my girlfriend and I always run into someone either on the way there or back and 410s or 430s would not be good for my top end. 373s are good for a dig and still have a nice top end. If your planing on driving most of the time street only and never running a race on a roll then 410s are better in my opinion.

How fast do you people go that 110 is not fast enough to determine a winner? Usually you can tell whos got the faster car after about 80 lol.

OP, the opinions on gears varies from application to application. In general, drivers of naturally aspirated cars prefer 4.10s. They work well on both the track and the street for that horsepower range. Although I have read about some discontent from those who have 4.10s. Mostly it was because they have a very short 1st gear. Some proponents of 4.10s advocate starting in second instead of first to overcome this drawback on the street. 4.10s do not hurt your gas mileage in the city but you will see a definite drop in gas mileage on the interstate.

The general consensus for supercharged cars seem to be 3.73s with the track crowd advocating 4.10s with 28" slicks. Gears are a torque multiplier and when you have plenty of low end torque already traction on the street starts becoming a problem. The more horsepower/torque you have the greater the problem. I have read posts from Kenne Bell drivers who have swapped out their 4.10s for 3.73s and 3.55s. I particularly remember one post where the KB driver said that sidewise at 50 mph passing a car is no fun. But this is not just a twin-screw problem. I have also read a post from a guy with a centri pushing 470+ rwhp who had 4.10s. The car basically had no traction at all on the street and was sideways in nearly every corner.

Which gear is best depends entire upon your personal preferences, the amount of horsepower your running, and how you use your car.
I agree with you. Thats why I choose 3.73s and since the weather is so hot down here in Miami and traffic is really bad and I drive on the express way all the time everyday. I also have to put gas on my car 2-3 a week too.

It depends. I dont let go of the gas till the other guy gives up unless I am runing into traffic. LOl I have ran into ppl that have asked me for a 60mph and even a guy in a honda asked me for an 80mph roll last week. (my response was WTH you think your driving a Supra?) LOL. But I normally take my car over what the speedometer says at least once a week. I just like to race off the dig and on a roll too and top my car out sometimes. But your right most of the time around 110 mph the race stops but not everyone gives up lol.

4.30s

Like I said earlier. I am on the highway all the time on my way to school etc. and 4.10s are fine. I wish I had 4.30s. I can still use first JUST FINE, I dont understand why people bitch about first being short on a bolt on 2v.

You will absolutely obliterate a GT with the same mods as you if you go with 4.10s/4.30s. Every bolt on GT I have ran with anything under 4.10s has lost by at least a car, that includes 3.90s for you undeceive people. If your are not worried about losing 2-3 MPG 4.10s or 4.30s are the only way to go. If you plan to get a roots type blower I would get 3.73. If you plan to get a centri type blower, get 4.10s/4.30s.

Like I said, I am not just talking out my ***, I have real world experience with what I say. There will always be gear naysayers but the fact is, the lower gear ratio you pick(numerically higher) the faster and harder you will pull.

you'll still likely lose, drivers being equal. Gears are a great mods, but stock for stock a PI GT stil has 30~ hp to the wheels more than you.
