new motor

Default new motor

i am getting a brand new motor in my mustang put in monday and i was wondering are there any precautions that i need to take since it being brand new. Im going to change my oil after 500 miles but other than that, any other suggestions? thanks.

Let the engine break in before hammering it. Let it have a few heat cycles; running for a while, off for a while, running for a while, and so on. This will help ensure that all the different seals in your engine seat properly.
