Default Best Air Filter?

After owning several vehicles and spending rediculous cash on cold air intakes and seeing little to no power gains, I have decided that I will not buy a CAI for this Mustang.

I would, however, like to switch to a reusable air filter.

Has anyone tried a Speed by Spectre filter or would you recommend going with a K&N?

Thanks!

Smart move.. just get a K&N. I would leave the silencer in also. It is a factory type CAI with it in.

I have the Speed by Spectre drop in filter and I love it. Its excelent quality and for less than half the price of the K&N you can go wrong.

Just be careful with oiled filters like the K&N and others. There is a fine line between over oiled and under oiled.

Over oiling can contaminate the MAF and under oiled can let contaminates into the engine.

Is the Speed by Spectre an oiled filter???

I know it looks a lot like the K&N.

I'd like to find one that you can just wash out and not have to oil.....Wishful thinking, right?

Just get a K&N...follow the instructions when you need to re-oil...
