In regards to oil
Ok, so the story continues from my last thread about the detonation...changed my oil and most of the pinging went away. But i noticed that when i put the suggested amount of oil in(5 qts) that the oil barely touches the dipstick and is nowhere close to the right range in between the dots. Should i let it with the suggested 5 qts plus some to go in the filter or should i fill it to in between the dots??? And also while data logging with my xcal 3, the maf counts and voltage show up as invalid and loses connection so i think my maf sensor is fried. So gonna go get me a lightning maf now i guess. Any suggestions on what to do about the maf then as well???
Our cars do not produce "maf counts", that's a GM thing, ours produce an output voltage.
Also, a Lightning MAF will just screw things up unless the XCal3 lets you reprogram the MAF Transfer Function...

Well there is a spot to choose which maf you are using and there is already a program to run a lightning maf so i think thats what you are refering to. But in any case, the maf was not sending out an output voltage to the computer to be read by the xcal so something has to be wrong there, am i right??? No communication means uh oh to me.

Not 100% ture, MAF counts is a value available in most (perhaps all) Ford computers that I have seen. Its even a log able value. That being said its just a value based on voltage so either will work for tuning purposes.
