Is there a 65k Service Engine Soon notification?
Last week the front brakes started to slightly grind on my 2001 mustang. It was about that day that I also noticed that the Service Engine Soon Light came on. Well I changed the brakes & rotors no problem but the service engine soon light remains on. The car just broke the 65k mark so I am wondering if that light coming on was to advise me to do the 65k inspection or if there is something else causing it to stay on.
I have an out of town thing coming up this weekend (3 hr drive) so I want to be sure everything is in check before I leave out on Saturday. Getting an oil change @ the local shop this week as well.

the brakes didnt tunr the light on. you need to get and OBDII reader and check the code. the local shop should be able to read it for you or i think you can rent the reader. sometimes the tuners will read them too if you have one.

I didn't think the brakes going bad turned the light on, just found it as odd it occured so close to one another. I dont think it's the ABS either. I just replaced the right front abs a few months ago and when it was bad, the ABS light remained on. I still have a NIB LF ABS Sensor anyone wanna buy it? I still dont have enough posts to list it in the classifieds.
I believe there is an aftermarket exhaust installed which occured before I bought the car.
So where should I take it to get it read? Auto Zone does that? I am in Richmond, VA.
