more trouble than its worth, probaly be a lot cheaper just to buy a lil foxbody and mod it. if your gonna do a swap, swap in a 4v, much more cost effective

not very hard at all, If you'd searched the forum, you'd see two members swtiching to an old pushrod based motor.

It's not very difficult if you can find the engine and transmission, there are K-members and everything readily available to swap to an older engine.

Try using the search function first next time

I hope your not serious, you can pick up a completely fine 351 out of a 93 F150 around here for like 350 bucks, running. The K is like 250 bucks, the transmission is another 600. It would cost a hell of a lot more to swap in a 4V

he asked about a 302, which is a downgrade from a pi 4.6 stock for stock, takes some money to do the swap, then build up the 302. imo the better platform is the 4v, better gas mileage, more power and big aftermarket. now the 351 would be a good swap

On the surface, it would seem like it's a bad swap, but honestly, all things considered, it's got more potential and it saves a ton of weight, ESPECIALLY over a 2V.

there are guys running stock displacement, or 306CID, and ~420rwhp on pump gas.

Add in the fact it's probably 100lbs+ less than a 4.6L 4V, has factory forged shorblock with more tollerance to power than a 2V, and a better aftermarket.

A 351 is a good idea, except for the fact that you can accomplish the same with less CID, less weight.

Something like a 408CID based off of a windsor would be sweeter than hell, but I do think that a 302 would be a worthy swap

I really wouldn't consider the swap unless it was a 351... I guess if you had a hot 302 sitting in your garage and nothing to do with it... but otherwise 351W or go home.

not to be a dick or anything....but before you say its an easy swap, maybe you should do one

theres a lot more to my swap than switching k members and mounting a new motor

my entire car has to be rewired, all gauges need to be custom, those "kits" do not fit our cars just right and several things need to be modified, driveshaft doesnt fit... theres so many things other than just a k member...ive spent 4 grand on misc **** aside from my motor and transmission...and heres a tip, my k member was only $150 of that

i coulda done it a bit cheaper used, but thats not the point

a 351 would be awesome! it would have to be fuel injected though. the options im lookin at are, 5.0l swap, 3v,4v swap, my 4.6 rebuild w/turbo, twin turbo, or kenne bell. but if i could do a 351 f i that would be really cool. which of all these options would be the best, and which would be most cost for hp effecient? thanks for all you guys input!
