Not trying to be a smartass... but please explain how it's more convenient? I'm a little confused. Is it harder to order or install custom cams? I just don't get the convenient part...

Convenient as in, if you decided to remove the cams and sell them used you may find a buyer easier... yes. If you think that later on you may go through the trouble of removeing and reselling then don't get cams at all. JMO

Granted some off the shelf cams may produce just as good gains as customs (depending on the setup) but IMO it's hard to beat custom.

If you could get seats custom fitted for your ***, waist and back for the same price as a one size fits all seat would you do it, or would it be just too convenient to get the same seat that everyone else has?

Mustangman is probably thinking that its quicker to just get off the shelf cams. Quicker to get them and get them on the car. But i doubt that it will be that much better if at all because the cams still have to be ground and it doesnt take much to adjust some numbers on a pre-existing cam profile to make them custom to the application. So custom FTMFW!!!

+1 on custom cams! I've been doing a ton of research in this area, and you would be surprised at how many people are having pvc issues (and don't know it) with some of the very popular off the shelf grinds.

I'm finding the 4.6 PI head is the worst of the bunch when it comes to this.

Actually the TF heads should have alot more clearence! The problem is the stock PI valve has a thicker lip that sticks deeper in the chamber, and on top of that it already sits a tad closer to the piston than the NPI valves do. All this together is what gives you clearence issues.

Ive been hearing that the newest issue with the trickflow heads is the fact that with PI cam grinds they are having ptv issues with cams that shouldnt have PTV issues...so ive heard. Dont know how accurate that is, but i think it was texas_stang02 that said that and he would know considering that he actually had pics of a trickflow head...well half of one...to look into port work for it IIRC. But I have heard that there are going to have to be new cam grinds for these specific heads.
