Default Meth on an N/A car

Has anyone ever really thought about doing this??? Snow Performance makes a kit for N/A motors to spray meth. It lowers IAT's and you can run more timing and stuff with it just like in boosted apps. I know you wouldnt see as nice of gains as you would with F/I cars but you probably wouldnt go through it as much as an f/i car would as well. Just asking because a lot of people have been asking about running race gas in their cars and it would be a nice prevention of detonation on higher compression cars. Thoughts or opinions on this???

Why not just get nitrous?

Well my thoughts on this were technically you would still be N/A with this setup versus power-adder with nitrous. Im not looking for like an extra 100hp on tap whenever i want it like with nitrous. Just maximizing the potential of an N/A car and making it run more efficiently. There are a lot of h/c/i cars out there looking to squeeze a little bit more out of their car and this, i think, would be a decent way of doing it. And my car will probably see heads and cams and you just cant run that high of a shot of nitrous on the stock bottom end with either ported heads or trickflow heads and cams before it would blow. And if you ran nitrous, you could also run the meth at the same time so you wouldnt have to pull as much timing out for running it. Just a thought. Any more opinons or thoughts on this???

from what i read a while back it really didnt do much for n/a cars, at least not to justify the cost. nitrous is a much more effective tool with similar costs as meth.

It's actually a really good tool for really well built engines running High compression, a way to run 12:1+ without needing to go out and get 106 octane all the time, so if you want a 13:1 compression engine and run on pump gas, it might be just what you're looking for.

does it yeild any gains or is it mostly for cooling??? like i said i only knew what read and wasnt 100% sure. thats pretty interesting tho

for the cost, why not spray a 50 shot? sounds like a waste of money to me

Spraying meth NA won't gain you much power but it will lower intake temps and increase octane level. It will allow you to run more timing and you will need a tune.

Yea, i knew i would need a tune. But I thought it was a good way, like stated above, to run a high compression motor without running race gas. Meth injection is like 450 for the kit and then you can just use methyl alcohol based windshield washer fluid($2 a gallon at walmart) and it would be like running race gas. Added when you need it, not when you dont. Versus race gas which you would run constantly and burn up even if you didnt need the affects of race gas under normal driving. Just a way to have a high compression DD without having to run race gas...or just further advance timing on an N/A car.

Not for these little cars. My dad ran meth on his 82 mustang, he had a high compression 302 in it though. Meth is good for use on motors that require higher octane gas. Meth+pump gas + high comp motor = no detonation.
