Default Speedo Calibration

Hey Guys, So i got the 4.10's installed and everything is all good. No whining no nothing i love the performance upgrade. Buuttt My speedo is way off... People are suggesting i get the Diablo Predator. Thats great and all but its wicked expensive. Does any one know maybe a different brand or something else i could do ? Thanks

You can just get this. Its only 100 bucks.

Although, for only another 150 or so bucks you could pick up a used tuner somewhere.

Why not just go get a dyno tune, I mean please correct me if I am wrong, but can't they correct your speedometer and adjust your ecm correctly for the gears/any other mods.

Sure, however it will cost $300 to $400--or more depending on how much time they spend geting it right, and if you also buy a tuning device/system to take home with you.

If you don't buy the device/system you will have to go back to a dyno shop (that uses the same tuning system--SCT is the most widley used), and pay them more money, to have even minor tweaks made (for seasonal changes, minor mods, etc.).

Beyond those issues, a "dyno" tune is a starting point, and perhaps an intermediate step to see where you are. It is not by any measure the end point of tuning an engine.

Professional racers change tunes more often than underwear. Drag racers between runs, and NASCAR racers while racing. If a dyno tune was an end-point they wouldn't have to do that...
