Nitto 555's from cruzin will cost 620.00 plus 50.00 for shipping. then i need to pay to have them mounted/balanced. I guess this will be the cheapest route for me.

im getting bored with the Roush...anyone have a 03 Cobra they want to trade for a little while, lol.

The topic of widening the wheels because I said to keep the Roush wheels and have them widened so you can fit a larger more aggressive tire on them.

I really like Roush wheels. They look great and hardly anyone has them. Just find a really nice and aggressive looking and handling tire.

I think that the OP mentioned at some point that the clearcoat is starting to peal on his wheels (not in the thread), so that may be why he's looking into it.

If that's the case, I'd just refinish em, which is something you can do in your garage, takes a **** tone of time, but it's possible.

And if he thinks a 18x10 is an expensive tire, moreso for 18x11-13

IDK why he said 17's would look small, I think you have the stock GT/V6 brakes, so you could definitely swap down to 17's, but they aren't exactly that much cheaper.

I think I paid a good 400 for the last set of tires I put on the rear, and they were the cheapest I could find that would fit.

Uhhhhh.....

2 Nitto 555 265/35/18 and 2 555r 305/35/18: $880 + mount and balance.

2 Nitto 555 275/40/17 and 2 555r 315/35/17: $660 + mount and balance.

Prices are from DTD...they can be had elsewhere for a little cheaper.

$220 may not seem like a whole helluva lotta cabbage, but 18s are 33% more expensive. Considering DRs wear out around 12,000 miles 17s are about $180 cheaper a year.

This is why I'm considering ditching my heavy Saleens for some chrome 03 Cobras.....

Then I look at the Saleens and fall in love all over again.

Boy, this thread is all over the place...

OP, consider the cost of going all new wheels and expense of keeping your existing ones. I figure by the time you pick up new wheels and get new tires, the money you save will take a couple sets of tires to pay off. If this is worth it to you, who cares what someone else thinks about 17"s looking small. Heck, they will be the exact same overall diameter as you will go up 5% in sidewall hight.

As for widening, I realize OP is not interested, but it has been bandied about. For those interested, keep in mind that the wheel is only widened in the back-space so in such a case as the OP's..... one would need to run a 1/2"~3/4" spacer for clearance, that is all..

He could trade his (assuming they're geniune) wheels with bald tires to some one with 17s and brand new tires straight across. The savings is instantaneous.

Black saleens would look horrible. All red car with all black wheel? Looks really dirty. I think any vivid colored car needs a polished lip to look decent.
