Question BEST UPGRADES FOR MAXIMUM HP GAIN

Hi everyone. My name is Ben. Im buying a 2001 Mustang GT 5spd Hardtop on Sunday and I wanted some input from all of you.

I plan on buying some stuff to boost hp and was wondering what would be the top thing that i should buy to upgrade the engine and get the most hp out of my car.

I'm already planning on an air intake, and magnaflow exhaust.

What about cobra headers, throttle body, plenum, etc?

Where have you guys seen the most results from.

Let me know. Later.

How much money do you have to spend?

4v headers wont fit a 2v...

turbo/supercharger clearly the best. throttle body does wonders, gears will make you feel it all. of all the little small bolt ons, i got the most out of the throttle body/plenum and gears, thats where i'd go first. my theory with heads and engine work, if i'm gunna tear it down, i'm gunna tear it down. gunna do it all in one shot, no use in doing it 3 or 4 times. got a superchips tuner, wasn't really impressed for the price. headers are very expensive with small gains.

dang... if that, give it a few months and go TURBO. thats the best thing, i don't have the money for it.. but that push you way above any bolt-on's will. or in 5 months you could have a supercharger.

how much gains did you see between the throttle body and plenum? and I'm not a mechanic so not really sure, how do you determine what size throttle body is the best?

well you can always call when you order, theh bigger the better. i haven't dyno'd mine, but it will rip through the rpm's you'll notice, helps with low end torque alot. plenum supposed to give you 20 give or take. a bit more for the TB. its an easy install, depending. i got a single blade accufab from rpmoutlet and had to cut the intake b/c it was built for twin blades. has an awesome sound, a good little whistle when you press the gas. they will have whatever sizes for whever year and size motor you have. the more air your car gets, the better, hince turbo and supercharger.

Dont buy anything, save and buy a blower...
Dont buy all the little bs bolt ons if you plan to go with a blower.

I would say do your exhaust, lower the car, add rims. but as for as a TB/plenum and U/D pulleys, dont buy it..... Just my .02
