coil packs

don't waste your money on em. IN fact dont waste your money on new CoP's unless you go with the Weapon X coils, which are way overkill for your car.
All of the other ones (MSD, ACCELL and GRANATELLI) are the same thing in different packaging.

well then if you're going to drop coin on them, at least get the good ones.
MSD, ACCELL, Granetelli, are all the same as the ford ones. NO difference, and CliffyK (our resident electrical engineer) can tell you that too.
The weapon X coils are a completly different design and actually will make a difference.

Weapon-X ignitions true coil-on-plug coils are a completely new and proven multiple spark discharge design that unlike conventional designs such as MSD, Granatelli, and Accel are nothing more the an upgrade OEM Coil near plug design. All other Ford ignition coils are only Coil near plug due to the small interconnecting spring between the ignition coil and the spark plug. The Weapon-X ignition completely eliminates the need for the interconnect meaning better, more efficient power transfer capabilities than typical designs.

On a nearly 9 year old car you might just need new boots and "springs", what do yours (particularly the boots) look like?
As the rubber ages it becomes slightly more conductive, and also more prone to cracking. High voltage REALLY likes to find the path of least resistance...
