Thinking of a SN-95

Well Im getting bored with my new edge , I want to mod but it only has 35k miles clocked in as of this weekend so I feel like its still a baby so why mod a fairly new car. As Im looking more and more at the SN-95 body styles Im falling in love with them , I know there non pi engines blow but I would def. build the engine from a forged block on up. I feel like if I do any engine mods on my 04 GT it would be like putting a tattoo on my unborn son when he is 2 ! I would feel really good about building a Sn-95 street / strip car from stock , a good project to keep me busy when not at school and at work. Give me some opinions and thoughts.

I know right , If I do go ahead and go threw with it and let the new edge go and find a 4v I will def. go that route but more then likely I will find a nice cheap 2v and make it smoke some 4vs.

I agree , I would more then likely make it a street/strip car just because I dont like huge meats on my rear , I know that sounds bad lol but ye...

u have a 2 year old son whos not born yet?

hoss likes road course/auto-x, and staggered fittments don't work very well in that, so more than likely his open track car will have the same size wheels/tires on all four corners

If thats how you want to hide your dyslexia that is fine lol , my kid a concern ? Im more worried about getting my copy of the new COD then that , I got it handled ! I just want a better project car is what Im saying ; so my 2 year old son that isnt born yet can have a cool car when he is 16.

Ahhh I see , I was think straight line track. I would like to get into auto X , with the set up I have in mind I just might.

Just mod what you have IMO.

The only benefit would be to get out of any monthly obligations that you currently have.

LynnBob Mustang 07-26-2009 07:09 AM

Pssst.... You do know that your new edge is a SN-95 body, right?? ;)

99-04's are just called new edges like 03-04 Cobras are called Terminators.

I dont know why you would sell your current car for an sn-95...you have your car now. Enjoy it and dont put a lot of money into it that way you can save up for the second car...your 96-98. Why get rid of this one and not be satisfied with an sn95 for a while til you can do all the stuff you want to it??? I think that you will regret this decision if you go through with it. And as far as open track and strip racing, you get a good adjustable suspension you should be able to perform relatively well on both courses.

it was awsome, even tho it rained, it might of actually made it better lol, good times, cool people.

to O.P

$1500 supercharger thread, will run reliably as long as u take care of it, and it should satisfy your mod bug for a little while.

Yes I know this but the 96-98 GT's dont have a cool code name like new edge or terminator so I call it SN-95, Same platform different look.

Great advice , Im liking this Ideal. Hmm two mustangs would better then one lol , Im not getting a "older GT to be satisfied right out of the gate tho. In no hurry to have a 11 second car , I just want something to build up and work on in my spare time.

Dont want a S/C , Wants a well thought out and built turbo system , In no hurry to add FI to anything.

Thats the way to do it.

945LSTANG 07-26-2009 04:23 PM

why are you looking at another 4.6?

if you like the sn95s, get a 94-95 and swap in a 351 or bigger. it would be cheaper, easier to work on, and a lot more fun IMO.

id rather "nut swing" on a brand name.:icon_bunny:

NoGo95GT 07-26-2009 04:34 PM

Yeah, go sn-95. You can find some really great deals. I bought my 95 GTS for $3100. And it runs great.

jrherald420 07-26-2009 04:38 PM

once again SN-95 is the platform name for all 1994-2004 mustangs, when you say Sn-95 you are refering to a 94-04 mustang.

If you havnt noticed most ppl distinguish the sn-95s apart by calling the original style sn-95s and the new style by there little code name.. new edges.. we all know they are built on the same platform, no need to megaphone it over n over.
