Default rear dif cover is hitting spare tire cut out.

has anyone ever had any problems with their dif cover hitting the spare tire cut out in the trunk. will the metal strech if i bang it out to make room?

update: i did some test passes today and it felt good, did coil overs and had the summit star wheels on, they are 15x4 in the front and 15x8 in the rear with m/t et 27in tall tire. that makes my gear around a 3.55 but i got the rims with tires and all for 350 so i couldnt pass that up. it hooked first and when i ran it out to 5,800 and shifted to 2nd just hooked and same with 3rd. Didnt bother to power shift but was shifting hard, on the track i know that i can powershift in each gear without wheel spin which i couldnt before. i have 4.10's waiting to be put in and later this week or next week ill be bringin my rear to get axle tubes welded and gears swapped, which is when i want to bang out the trunk for clearance wheels lost about 90-100lbs and the car lost around 50-60lbs ontop of that. taking it to the track tomorrow for fun but not expecting anything crazy with the great NJ summer air and with having some gear taken away with the taller tires. after the 4.10's im hoping for 12.49 or lower with stock heads cams headers and taking .2 off my 60ft.

honestly sounds like the shocks are shot if the rear diff is traveling that much.

But IDK, I could be wrong, thats just my thought

Yea, he has strange 10 ways on there and probably set to the softest setting so it will slam that bitch to the ground on a hard launch. lol but i would love to see you run 12.49 with stock heads and cams man!!! That would be SICK!!! My front end should be looking somewhat like yours here soon man...cowl hood and termie front bumper!!! now if i could just run the same times...i would be freakin happy as hell!!!

i actually have KYB's now. 1 is soft and 8 is hard for adjusting, right?

since the last time at the track ive changed/added upr spherical/spherical adj upper and lower control arms, KYB AGX shocks, 31 spline rear w/ auburn carrier, upr coil over 14-175 spring w/ QA1 adj struts, MM caster camber plates, Summit Star wheels. i think thats it...

and everyone loves a nice donut.

trunk metal is thin...it will bang itself out

i just saw a kenney brown car rip the trunk out from the panhard bar setup it had... lol i wouldnt worry about it...you can bang it out urself, just be careful not to do any major damage... and make sure to spray paint over where you were banging, to prevent any rust
