How many of you run in 5th gear?
My commute to work is almost all highway and about 25 miles one way. I usually always run in 5th, but the car really has no passing power when I need it. The car seems to really like running in the higher RPM range and is much more responsive. I understang the whole gas mileage thing and that is not a big concern. So how many of you run in 5th on the highway?

u must have stock gearing and 3.27s suck. 5th gear you have no passing power. Go with different rearend gears will make your 5th gear have more passing power due to the higher rpms. Your choice 3.73s or 4.10s. I recommend 4.10s and if you were like me when stock with stock gearing I was running in 4th gears on the highway so much I did not really lose any gas mileage with my 4.10s because i never needed to drop gear in 4th unless i was racing. I had a 80 mile commute round trip.

The first thing I noticed when I got my '03 GT was that is was A LOT slower than my M45 Eaton equipped '92 Miata (12 psi)--made me realise why I always ate up Mustangs on the boulevard. I learned to drive it as a 4-speed unless I was cruising.
Now with 3.73's, intake and exhaust mods, and a tweaked 93 octane tune, it's a bit faster than the Miata--mostly because it hooks up better. The Miata was light, had a viscous LSD, and had some real tire size issues...
