Are the stereotypes true?

I'm not big into buying a modded car. A modded car pretty much guarantees they beat up their car. Buying a completely stock car from a older gentleman has a better chance of being babied them a modded one.
I go WOT almost anytime I see an open road or some dumb ricer revs up his tin can for a race.

holy crap, you guys must be maniacs, I'll make sure I live nowhere near you.
OP, to answer your question, no, not everyone who mod's their car rags on it, and usually if they pay for it themselves, with hard earned money, even if something breaks, they are more apt to fix it correctly rather than Jerry-rig it.
Even when I raced my car competitively, I didn't come close to driving it to it's limit, I spent alot of time under it, so I wasn't willing to break the thing.
Just have the car checked out

I built my car so that I could push it very little, and still whoop 75% of the cars running in street modified.
I had a buddy of mine who owns and races his Z06 drive my car around willow springs, and he beat my best time on the first lap.
I is a puss
