Default 3.73 or 3.90

Not sure what gears I want to install.

Anyone have any experience between the two?

Car is a 98 GT with headers,PI swap,and full exhaust.

Also car is a automatic and driven one weekends basically.

Not interested in going to the track so I know dont need
4.10.

Any opinons?

p.s.What are the stock gears in this car?

2:93 or 3:07 or something like that. 99 up gt's were slightly higher at 3:27


just cuz u arent going to the track dont mean u dont need 410's. 410's for autos 373's for manual is what the cookie cutter reccomendation is for gears anyways. if its your weekend car i say go 410's because gas mileage shouldnt even be a concern with your weekend toy. and it will make your car alot more fun to romp on.

Hell I'd even look into 4.30s.

Honestly I'm gonna go to an auto, and am thinking of ditching the 4.10s, and gettin 4.30s or even 4.56s

never been to a track and dont plan on going for a while.


got 27.6 MPG going down to mustang week last week too which is a 250 mile drive for me.

If it's a weekend toy, that's all the more reason to do something like 4.10 gears. Have you ever rode in a stang with 3.90's, 4.10's, etc. The car will be way more fun in all aspects, and fuel mileage will suffer minimal if at all.

For a pi swapped auto 4.10's are truly your best bet overall.

I would def do 4.10s with an auto. Weekend car or not, 4.10s FTW
