Going to pick the ol girl up in 10minutes.. good ways away so i wont' be back until tomorrow, but i'll let you guys know how she feels. ended up being an expensive install, axle bearings ended up being shot, axles were fine. $250 turned into $400 for the kit and labor.. i'll get back to everyone on how the install feels.

$400 still sounds really good for the gears and labor and all that other stuff. I wouldn't feel too bad.

Tell us how it is!

Discovered my Pass. side axle seal is leaking, gonna' have to pull the axles to replace anyway so I'm now considering gears (4.10s to be specific).
Love to hear how they feel.

I had 4.10's installed on my 96 gt along with a Detroit locker. They really help with the acceleration but at the same time they shoot your rpm's through the roof real quick. First and second gear are also pretty short. I enjoy third gear alot though its like my second gear used to be when I had the stock 3.27's.

well.. i got them installed... honestly it wasn't what i was expecting, which could be a good and bad thing. I thought she'd be a rough ride in 1st gear. no problems at all. It gave it a good bit of pep still. of course i went from 3.73 to 4.10, not from stock. Also when i drove that mustang gt with 4.10's it was the 1st mustang i've drivin, couple years in the cobra, think i'm more comfortable in it. All in all very good mod, alot of gain on higher gears and torque. Its perfect... rolls through the gears, not loosing as much traction as i thought i would. I think 4.10 is perfect for the way she is set up right now, i'd recommend them to anyone. I love them. as for rpms... i'm at 28/2900rms at 75mph. before i was at about 2/2100 at 75mph. Figure the speed limit is 65 here in va..i'm not much of a loss, just need to get up early to go to work so i can slow down a little on the interstate.
