Default blown trans n motor $2500... what to do

So I have a rod knock and I hurt 3rd gear in my 2nd 3650... I have a shortblock, so theoretically I have every thing for the motor now. So I'm going over some options

Fix the motor back to stock and put in a built 4r70 with a mvb and tb

Throw a t45 in it and buy heads and or cams

Stock motor, built bottom end and 5speed and spray more

Fix it to stock and sell the piece of ****

I'm leaning towards option 1... Whitefoxgt says to do 2... What do you guys think? Or other ideas??

i'm going with 2 as well.. being of the less educated of the two of you. figure if you have everything ready, build the motor and upgrade the trans.

speaking of engine work. quick question for ya, i heard you have to have a torque plate for some of the work like honing/boring, porting too? in any sense, i called a shop, said they'd do the pressure test/porting/boring, $55hr no torque plate. would they ruin my stuff without it? is that to much?

My concern is I keep breaking 5speeds... So why put a stock one in n break it again too?

I think the auto would be just as fun, more consistant and reliable

Then again patriot stage 2s and cams would get me those 11.50s I've been looking for

cool thanks. also another idea may be a TKO trans. i was suggested that from some people as well. was under the impression it was tough and a 6speed. not sure if that would take you where you wanted to be.. 11.5's

Ill ****in break one of those too. If I do a 5speed right now it'll be the t45 I found for 400bucks. If I culd do it right itd be a faceplated 3650 or tko
