Default Lowering Springs Question....

Hi Guys. I need some info about lowering springs. I have a 96 Mustang GT and would like to eliminate some of that extra space in the wheel wells and give my car a better stance. I was thinking about possibly getting the FRPP lowering springs but definitely need some info first. I dont want to get crazy here and have to replace all kinds of suspension parts just because of the new springs. Im trying to keep it basic so I can just do the springs and keep it at that. Im not looking for a 2" drop, maybe just around 1". Any opinions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

just replace the springs that match the amount of drop u want... over 2" u need cc plates but u said u dont want to go that far so dont worry about that. might need to get new shocks/struts depending on how u like the ride.

Either FRPP springs or Eibachs will work for what you want. I have Eibach on my car and they ride great.

Thumbs up

Thanks for the good info so far guys and nice pics too! I was thinking maybe somewhere down the road replacing the shocks and struts eventually when they needed it. I like the idea of the FRPP springs and even the Eibach pro-kit as that one looks like it should drop around 1" on each wheel(maybe slightly more). I dont know too much about the H&R spring. I have to check them out to get more info. Did you guys do the installs yourself or have someone do it for you. I cant imagine what the labor would be like on a job like that!

i know the eibach pro-kit has a dual spring rate. factory weight rate at first then going into a stiffer rate while the h and r's are a single stiffer rate. so if ride is an issue, go with eibach + eibach only drops the car 1.25 to 1.5 inches

When you guys installed the lowering springs did you have any issues with any type of "rubbing" underneath or bottoming out at all? Just curious. Thanks!

Default Ford Racing Performance Handling Package

I just did the install on the FRPP Performance handling kit a few weeks ago. It includes shocks, struts, both sway bars, and springs. I just wanted a better stance with some springs, but I couldn't ignore the deal I got on the kit. $500 for the whole thing. Local Ford dealership quoted $600 for the install so I started researching and found some good instructions for the install. It took about 5 hours to get everything installed because I was working by myself. I tried to post a pic below, but I'm not sure if it's going to work. Overall the drop was 1.2" in the front and about 1.5" in the rear. I like it. Good luck! Do the install yourself. You can probably do just springs in a couple of hours.
